Results from Deloitte’s 2016 Impact Survey indicate that employee volunteering builds skill sets that are critical to developing well rounded leaders in organisations. These valuable leadership skills include communication, decisiveness, accountability, ability to motivate, acting with character, staying positive in the face of challenges and trusting others with responsibilities.

According to the 2014 Millennial Impact Report by Achieve, roughly a third of employed millennials stated that having a volunteering policy affected their decision to apply for their job, 39% said it influenced their decision to interview and 55% said it led them to accept an offer.
